A
landmark moment
The Leeds Grand Theatre has re-opened
and Opera North now has a permanent home in Leeds. Audiences
can enjoy an enhanced experience in an environment better
equipped to welcome world class opera, theatre and dance.
This, however, is only the half way
point. Phase 2 of Transformation will bring
the stunning Assembly Room back to life as a centre for education
and performance. It will allow artists to create new
work, and people of all ages to participate in a wide range
of inspiring activity. The decaying façade and
foyers of the Leeds Grand Theatre will be restored to their
original splendour, revealing one of the finest examples of
Victorian architecture in the country.
